- General rules
There is a locker for handbags near the entrance door. Food and drinks are prohibited in the reading rooms except for water. Smoking is forbidden. Mobiles must be switched off.

- Reading rooms
Housed in an old Lebanese villa, the library faces storage problems like so many other libraries. There are two reading rooms with reference works and with a display of recent academic periodicals and six regional newspapers. The vast majority of books and periodicals are kept in several underground storage rooms and in offices.

- Borrowing
To order books for usage in the reading rooms please fill out a card and give it to the library staff. Not more than eight book orders per day will be accepted.

- Photocopying
There is a copy machine near the entrance hall. Please ask the library staff for the key counter and show the books you want to copy. Books published before 1960 can only be copied after consultation with the library staff. It is not allowed to copy complete books.
